Sticky Cake

Sticky Cake (Kladdkaka)


This is the Swedish version of a brownie, with a much more sticky center. Soooo very good! Serve with your favorite ice cream or cool whip.


  • 1 cup of flour
  • 1/2 cup of unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 4 eggs
  • 2 2/3 cups white sugar
  • 2 tablespoons vanilla extract
  • 1 cup of melted butter
  • Ice cream or cool whip


1. Preheat oven to 300 degrees F. Grease an 8-inch pie plate.

2. Sift together the flour, cocoa powder, and salt. Set aside.

3. Stir the eggs into the sugar until smooth.

4. Add the flour mixture, and stir just until combined. Pour in the vanilla extract and butter. Stir until well combined.

5. Pour into prepared pie plate.

6. Bake on the lower rack of the preheated oven for 35 minutes, until the center has slightly set. Allow cake to cool for 20-30 minutes in the pie plate.

7. Serve warm topped with cool whip or ice cream.
